Several years ago I attended a workshop with Dr. Mendler. I took a lot of what he presented and used it to develop my own discipline plan for my classroom. I especially liked having the students develop the rules for the classroom. Then when one of the students broke one of the rules I could point out that the student had come up with the rule and signed a contract to abide with the rule. It got rid of the power struggle that sometimes would come up when I made the rules. I also always remembered not to put the student into a corner-and keep my temper. S.Morrisette
