The process of forming a doctoral committee

  1. Agree on a chair (done)
  2. Develop a list of people you would like to have on your committee. (done)
  3. Check to be sure that your possible committee satisfies the requirements for membership of Ed.D. in T&L committees.
  4. Discuss the possible committee members with your adviser and decide on committee make-up.
  5. Ask your chair to contact the faculty you would like to have as members your committee. It is not appropriate for you to contact the faculty members directly yourself.
  6. If a particular faculty member is unable to serve on your committee, talk with your adviser to determine other faculty members who might be appropriate for your committee.
  7. Ask your chair...(return to previous step for as many times as is necessary to constitute a committee).
  8. When your adviser notifies you that all the committee members have agreed to serve, send the names of your committee members to Jeff James and Paula Levin.
