The process of forming a doctoral committee
- Agree on a chair (done)
- Develop a list of people you would like to have on your committee. (done)
- Check to be sure that your possible committee satisfies the requirements for membership of Ed.D. in T&L committees.
- Discuss the possible committee members with your adviser and decide on committee make-up.
- Ask your chair to contact the faculty you would like to have as members your committee. It is not appropriate for you to contact the faculty members directly yourself.
- If a particular faculty member is unable to serve on your committee, talk with your adviser to determine other faculty members who might be appropriate for your committee.
- Ask your chair...(return to previous step for as many times as is necessary to constitute a committee).
- When your adviser notifies you that all the committee members have agreed to serve, send the names of your committee members to Jeff James and Paula Levin.
