Defining Elearning

An important issue is defining the scope of elearning so that appropriate research practices and literatures can be brought to bear on the problem. Currently research from many fields and areas are relevant including Education, Information Science, Communications, Management and Administration, and Computer Science. These fields bring attention to pedagogy, information dissemination, library support, online conversation, computer-mediated communication, virtual community, learning communities, communities of practice, systems management, higher education administration, computer-supported cooperative work, and systems design and implementation.
