Theme for Welcome Center
It might be nice to use open areas for each "station" in the Welcome Center instead of walls and a roof. The areas could be identical in their basic look so the Welcome Center looks cohesive or like all the parts belong to a whole. There could be a circular patio to stand on for each area and some common objects to hold scripts on that area. We'd need something to identify each area for what it is plus a screen for any videos (we might use Jing to create our own tutorials) or slide show and common objects to hold notecards or go to web sites etc. So we might use the same stand with a notecard box at each area and the same viewing screen for each area, plus the same object to go to any web sites in each area, etc. We might have a "sandbox" out back behind the welcome area for people to practice building. -Pam
Ideas for Welcome Center:
In addition to the how-to's, do you think it would be a good idea to include some of the rationale behind using SL/Metaverse? We could create objects with notecards, links, and videos to support the educational uses of such an environment. Here we could also incude the research that supports or at least begins to investigate the uses of VEs. --Trish
Trish, this idea would be very possible with multiple levels. I love it! --Megan
Sitting (creating an object and setting the properties so you'll sit correctly) -
Create several styles of tables and chairs with a sit script. Create a Bedroom set. Create a script so that the avatar can appear to be laying down. --Matt
Adding textures to objects--Matt
Create billboards with links to show how to script, how to build houses and furnitures, how to use all of the aspects of the building commands. --Matt
Playing a movie - I don't know how to do this, but am willing to learn. I think there was a question thread in the forums.--Trish
Playing a song - Same as above--will learn and make it happen -- Trish
Pam's pig's sound script - Note: Perhaps as a bit of irony we could have multiple farm animals grouped together on our land and write scripts for the different animals.
Creating a prim with a web link - Megan
Giving something (note card, inventory item) - Megan
Changing your avatar's appearance & clothes - Megan and Patrick
Changing your avatar's gender - Patrick
Importing textures / signs .... Emily had a link to a web site last week -
Setting your home location (for teleporting and for starting each new session in your home) - Brian
Along with teleporting, basic walking, flying, "swimming" in the pool - Pam
Gestures - Pam and a little bit of Patrick
Map use - Pam
Categorizing Ideas into Centers
Getting Around
Your Avatar (In this area we could have a fashion center with pictures of avatars modeling different clothes and what not.)--Megan
Scripting
Building
Welcome Area (that tells the user basically what's available at the Welcome Center, how to use the area plus provide any credits for outside sources of help)
Second Life's orientation is in the process of being updated but may provide some good ideas.
Why? Why a virtual world for education? Trish mentioned this in a post that someone else must have used and suggested. I think it's a great addition. I like the design Megan has created. Perhaps there could be a small area out front of the building for this.
Sandbox An area to practice building - or whatever.
--I could create another map, similar to the one for my house. --Megan
Building Plan
I am including a basic layout and idea for the structure. I will detail some of my ideas after the image. --Megan
Floor Plan
I like this building design, Megan! ...and the fact you combined the building and scripting areas into one double area. I think a sandbox out back with perhaps some landscaping around it and the building to make it a bit more "homey"? Also, there could be a "Why?" area out front. Perhaps a "Why? Garden" that talks to the unique strengths of using a virtual world for education? --Pam
Pam, I had some of the same ideas as you as far as the garden. In the white areas would be walkways lined with flowers and trees. I just got home from one of our outdoor malls and could see my idea turning into more of a mall type of place. On the buildings we could have large images of what is in store and what not. I still like the idea of having an enclosed structure because it is more realistic and tends towards designs that I have found in the real SL. I think it would be better off than all open. With multiple floors it also gives us the availability to have reasoning and additional steps and ideas for people to interact with and read about. --Megan
Detailed Description
The curved area of each portion will be glass to give a glimpse of what takes place at each level of each building. This way, when the person is in the welcome area getting a description of what is located where, in the chat section, the person could be putting a visual with the text. The rest of each area will have steel walls for a nice clean, futuristic look. There is a large architectural movement to place green spaces on top of buildings to make up for the land lost below. As a result, I would like to propose utilizing the roof tops as outdoor gathering areas that represent each buildings purpose. I would also like to propose no stairs in our design, instead putting in elevators and/or teleportation chambers for getting from one floor to the next. This will nicely complement the "getting around" building as well as show off more scripting.
Megan, I love the roof top idea! I had thought the same about steps. I have had so much trouble getting around in the houses we built! I thought just an open area to "fly up" as if in an elevator would work much better. It's futuristic and easy to create. You want a script to take someone upstairs? I guess I wonder if we can just fly up there as long as the height of each story is tall enough to do that with ease... (We can't make the roof and floors phantom if we want to stand on them, I believe...) I know the teleporting script didn't work very well... I ended up in the middle of the street in a "sit" position - in the middle of the air! Perhaps an elevator idea would work with basically a platform to stand on the moves up and down... =? Part of me still sees this as something open air, however... We have a lot of land. And some of the floors really don't have enough content to fill them properly - there's 12 floors and the welcome center and sandbox and why area. Plus navigating and practicing inside a structure is confining. So here's an alternate idea: Use Megan's map and layout but just have a patio type floor out in the open without walls or a roof. If you want something futuristic it could be steel in a slight bowl shape with the edges turning up. We could fill each area with good content. I think there would be plenty of room to do that for each area without additional floors. I envisioned the content being important and delivering that in the form of slide shows, videos, screen shots/Jing, notecards, web links and an activity to be successfully completed while there - to practice/learn the skill. If we do a ton of building, realistically we only have so much time and I don't want to run out of time to create good content. Take for instance, the Your Avatar section. There could be information about changing your avatar's gender as well as your appearance such as hair, body, clothing, etc. and changing clothes without taking them all off like some of us painfully learned. We could even give out a couple clothing items like someone did for the scripted assignment. I'm still wearing my batman shirt I got from there! Basic solid information and room to try it out right then and there. We could have some gestures for them to "pick up" and tutorials on how to use a gesture. --Pam
I have some clothes (including the Batman shirt in question) in my inventory - I was thinking that there might be use for a boutique with a "rack" for downloading clothes and a notecard about importing the texture for a new shirt. I don't know about DAZ and creating your own textures ... PATRICK
Your Avatar
Floor 1: Changing your avatar's gender
Note: This doesn't seem like enough to fill up a floor. Perhaps there is something that we can add to this topic.
Floor 2: Changing your avatar's appearance
One section could be treated as a salon. Then there could also be a mens clothing area and a women's clothing area each with mannequins. To create the mannequins, we can hide the names above our remove our hair or create basic hair styles, and then model different outfits, taking pictures of both front and back and then placing the images on prims with transparent backgrounds. We could also set up changing rooms for people to try it out. This could include how to change your hair style and color, body shape, clothes, etc.
Question: Is there code to create a mirror?
Floor 3: Gestures
Once again create models with said gestures and then the scripting to model that gesture. Explain where your gestures are and how to get them out and use them. Also how to use gestures you might be given (like the ones I picked up at the Anglican Cathedral). Also how to stop runaway typing hands.
Roof
Outdoor Runway like Fashion Week in NYC. We could place white folding chairs alongside a runway and stage area for people to model and walk the runway.
Getting Around
Floor 1: Map
Pam, can you explain what all you were thinking about the map? I'm assuming, explaining the features and how to use it.
One of our assignments was to look around the real SL and investigate educational areas. Perhaps we could also include some maps of those areas.
Floor 2: Home Location/Points of Interest
Setting your home location. In addition we could include links to some of our favorite places in the real SL as well as various portions of the metaverse: class meeting space, row of homes, group projects and additional building area.
Floor 3: Walking/Flying/Teleporting
We should include an area that describes how to change the height at which you can fly. Instructions for teleporting along with places to teleport to. These should be similar to the places pointed out on Floor 2. This could include what to do if your avatar goes out of control, crashing repeatedly through the earth plus using mouse view.
Roof: Swimming
Include a swimming pool as well as swimming lessons. You won't have to hold your breath =], flying=swimming in water, hovering=treading water, and go check out Tony's shark and give it a pet.
Idea: Change floor 3 and Roof in an effort to allow people to try out flying without the restriction of a ceiling.
Building/Scripting
Floor 1: Creating an Object with Appropriate Properties
Furniture store:
Area one: Chairs scripted to be sat in properly. A traditional dining room table was created with chairs that allow people to sit on poperly facing forward. A meeting table was also created in the round with stools that face the center of the table--Matt
Area Two: Bedroom furniture with scripting to open drawers and lay on beds.A bed was created which could be "layed upon." By sitting on the bed, the positioning of how you sit makes it appear as if you are laying down. There was also a red dressor created and with the help of Brian, the drawers pull in and out when they are touched.--Matt
Area Three: Perhaps lamps which can turn on and off. This should include information about building and applying textures and scripts to objects. I would be nice to have some Plopp objects and info as well along with sculpted object creation. It would be really nice to have a collection of common scripts for people to use.
Floor 2: Creating a Prim with Weblink and Playing Media
Electronics Store:
Area One: Computers with links to webpages
Area Two: CD/MP3 players with sound, Radios which play radio stations (Tony was explaining this during one of the office hour meetings)
Area Three: TVs with videos playing
I will be building a prim to look like a movie screen. when touched, it will play the movie I made for our first major project in this class. I would also like to create a second movie as a screencast showing how to play the movie. for the music, I envision a prim looking like an iPod. Touch it and it will play a track from freeplaymusic.com, an excellent resource for free music and sound effects. Again, I hope to create a screencast of how I did that.--Trish, 4/22, 9:51 p.m.
Trish, this sounds like a great idea. Similarly, you could make desktop and laptop computers with a link to a website and one with the monitor displaying how to create a web link. --Megan 4/23
Several billboards were created to show how to build, add textures and script.--Matt
Floor 3: Importing Signs/Textures and Giving Something
One area for importing textures and one area for giving a notecard/image/etc.
Idea: Change Floor 2 and Floor 3 because you have to be able to set the texture to play media.
Roof: Fancy Gathering Area
I am sorry that this differs from the image above but I had a slight change of heart. We could have a piano with clickable keys that play that note. (I was going to say that it could place music, however I think you can only assign one sound to play on each parcel, unless there is another way to pull this off) There could also be nice round tables with chairs to sit in for gathering and a beautiful garden.
Additional Ideas/Thoughts/Critiques
Roles for Welcome Center Creation:
Note: Since there are six of us, we'll need to double up for some jobs. We probably only want one organizer to keep things straight plus the movie documentary might be hard to share. We could easily double up for building and script writing as long as there's a strong common theme in place.
Movie documentary creator: Matt expressed an interest in this area. IDEA: I see another group is having each person document their own progress by taking video and getting that video to the person who is putting it all together. Sounds like a good idea to me. Thoughts?
"I would be happy to do that rather than stand around and watch." Matt
Idea: I don't want to step on your toes, Matt, but I think that it would be really cool if we could all take many screen shots as the building is taking place (ie. everytime you do one thing take a snapshot). Then when Matt compiles them it would act as a timeline, hopefully going quickly, showing the building erect itself, similar to all of the videos on the history channel that shows great buildings being built. --Megan
I like that idea Megan, and I definitely think we should all be taking screen shots and/or jing type video as we go of what we're doing. That will provide plenty of material for the film. It's better to have too much than not enough.
Builder of structures (two people): Megan IDEA: Pam noted that it may be cool to have multiple structures coming together. Also, our theme is centered around how multiple components come together to make the experience of SL complete. We could have the welcome center in the middle with "tubes" branching off in different directions, similar to a mind map. (I'm not sure if I'm using the appropriate brainstorming term. If you begin with the main idea in the central bubble and then draw branches off in multiple directions with subtopics, each of which then gets broken off into mire bubbles and so forth.) As certain areas build on each other, they could overlap vertically, as if it were almost one floor on top of another. --Megan
"I would much rather help build then do script writing. I got a pretty good hang of building and had a blast doing it." Matt
Script writing (two people): Pam (I'm flexible and will help out wherever there's a need.) We might create some tutorials using Jing as well to script to show in certain areas.
Trish: This is a weakness for me. I had to copy and paste all of my scripts.
Organizer (Make sure building, scripting etc. is cohesive): "I would prefer to be assigned tasks if you guys don't mind doing that. I would help to keep me on track with what we are doing. But I am willing to do anything I can and will be free most of this upcoming weekend."
Trish: Organizing I do well :-)
Revised Job Division Idea: Perhaps we should each have more than one task to do...
Everyone - Screen shots and Jing type video for the movie (throughout the project)
Everyone - Content ideas for all areas, so we get as many good ideas to implement as possible
Everyone - 1/6th of the content: Welcome Center (1), Why Garden (1), Your Avatar (1), Getting Around (1), Building and Scripting (2)
Two People - Building structures and standard objects to hold content and scripting (for instance, a screen for use with video and slide shows, a note card box to deliver information and an Internet type object like and @ sign or a www graphic to use to take them to a web site
Two People - Work with people to get their content scripted and running properly
One Person - Put movie together, landscape the area and mark off/create a sandbox area
One Person - Organization, making sure everyone's work "fits" together cohesively, documenting our communications for Tony, as time help out with major jobs for the week that need an extra pair of hands
Work Schedule
Week 1: Organize ideas and jobs/tasks, everyone adds content ideas for all areas, weekly documentation for Tony
Week 2: Building of structures and objects, begin landscaping and sandbox, everyone works on their own content and contributes ideas to all content areas, everyone turn in screen shots and video for the week, weekly documentation for Tony
Week 3: Building complete, landscaping and sandbox complete, script and apply content to objects each in their own content area with help of scripting people, everyone turn in screen shots and video for the week, weekly documentation for Tony
Week 4: Complete scripting and applying content to all objects, turn in any screen shots or video early in the week, maybe a video shoot at the Welcome Center with all of our team present, create/finalize movie, weekly documentation for Tony
Alternate Idea for Community Building Project
I think that it would be great if we could create a center based on one topic and how it fits into each of our specialties. Let's say a cross-curricular lesson built within a "school house" of some sort. I could create a building design to math the lesson topic like I did for my house. Thoughts? Also, could everyone attach their subject area and grade level.
Brian - > I currently teach High School World History, but taught math last year. Past courses include economics, government, geometry, pre algebra, and applied mathematics. Next year I will be adding Sociology and am super excited.
Matthew - I teach mathematics. I have taught everything from ISAT prep to AP Stats. I am currently at the high school level. I coach distance running as well.
Megan - Math (Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 2) as well as Web Design
Pam - District technology trainer - plus work with/support lessons and aides in K-2 and 3-5 labs plus 6-8 tech teachers - also district tech support/tech team - However, I also taught 3rd grade (5 yrs), fourth grade (1 yr), fifth grade (2 yrs) and sixth grade (1 yr - not part of a middle school but part of a K-6 building).
Patrick - Keyboarding & Intro to MS Office suite. Previously, I have taught Consumer Education. All in HS, but I have experience in the Middle school from "way back".
Trish - Middle school math, grades 6 and 7. With many of us teaching math, if we went with the center idea we could each cover a topic. For example, fractions are a huge chunk of the 6th grade curriculum. I cold build a space dedicated to fractions. However, I would be concerned about the project being disjointed. The cross-curricular idea is a strong one, I just don't think we have the variety in our content areas.
Comments / Discussion
Megan, I think most everyone teaches math except two of us who are more tech related. I'm open to different ideas but I want to make sure we meet the requirements for cohesiveness so it has a strong theme. During office hours Tony said, "So gluing four independent projects together probably wouldn't inspire me to give you a great grade. :-)" I think your idea could be cohesive (as one cross-curricular unit) as long as we plan it carefully so it all really fits into one "piece" with common structures, etc. That said, if I had to vote right now, I'm leaning towards the Welcome Center but could easily go with your idea if the group wants to go with that. Right now my biggest concern for that is having people that could do subject areas other than math. Perhaps some people on the team teach math and something else, or teach math but used to teach something else. Another thing to note is that Group D is doing an interdisciplinary unit and has posted their idea to the forum.--Pam
Pam, Thanks for the heads up. I'm game for the welcome center idea. --Megan
Meeting Time Week of April 13 - 19
Tuesday 7 PM - OK for: Pam, Megan
Wednesday 8:30 PM - OK for: Pam, Trish, Matt? "If we are going to meet can someone shoot me an email. Also is there an earlier time for Wednesday? 7:30 maybe?"Matt (Group D reserved 8 PM)
Thursday 8:30 PM - OK for: Pam, Megan (GROUP A TOOK THIS TIME SLOT from 8-9 PM per email 4/13/09. Tony asked us to not "all be in there at once".) "For our group meeting do we want to do it in second life or would we rather try some other program that does not lag so much" Matt
Friday 7:00 PM - OK for: Pam, Megan, Trish
Maybe we should meet earlier than later since we have an alternate idea to consider. Once we settle for sure on the theme, we need time to develop it and post our list of exactly what we'll be building and a list of what jobs each of us will do.
Note: Be sure to add your ideas to the wiki before we meet! This week we need to decide on a topic then create a list of what we're going to build and who is going to be doing which jobs.
Pam posted a proposal for Sunday at 6pm in the Moodle log.
Saturday 6:00 PM - OK for: Pam, Trish, Megan, not Brian
Sunday 6:00pm - OK for: Pam, Megan, Brian, not Trish
Conversation Log
I thought it might be a nice idea to create a section in the wiki for conversation logs to keep them in one place for ourselves and for Tony. I have a server that I can upload the logs to and then link them in here. I will try to organize the emails and get that going. I will then also post any and all Moodle Chat sessions and what not. If you could email me any additional conversations, in metaverse and other forms, that would be great. --Megan

Progress
April 20-26
Brian: This week I reworked a teleporting pad that Pam had kindly passed along to me. I set it up so that it teleported directly next to the pool, but suddenly on Saturday it was dropping me off about 50 feet to the side of the pool. Next to the teleporting pad, I added a youtube video on teleporting and will be assigning an activity to it Saturday evening. The activity will most likely be combined with a swim in the pool. I also did some research in order to determine which movements I will demonstrate in a video I create vs. quality videos that are already available online. I am also looking into free coding to make our Avatars realistically swim. I found a few videos illustrating this, but in all cases the code costs money. Otherwise I will simply inform the user to fly in water, which appears more like treading then swimming.
Matthew:This week I created the bed, both sets of tables and chairs, the dressors, and the billboards. I scripted the chairs so that avatars sit in the chairs and the stools properly and facing in the right direction. I scripted the bed so that you can appear to lay down. On the second floor I researched tutorial videos and websites. I found good videos on how to use the building tools, how to build a house, how to build furniture, and how to add texture. I also found a few websites with textures and how to use the linden scripting language. I addded texture to each billboard with a picture of the websites that would be visited. Finally I took pictures of everything I did for the video.
Megan:
Monday - finished up general landscaping, creating the why garden area and welcoming entrance
Tuesday - Elevators are up an running in four locations on the property
Wednesday - created a pool and sandbox in the rear of the property
Thursday - recreated the signage area; created notecard boxes
Saturday - Created the Why Garden landscaping and signage; fixed seating positioning in elevators
Pam:
I got a teleport script working and gave it to Brian as Megan made some fabulous elevators. Then I worked on the map area. I created two signs that go to You Tube tutorials, one on the World Map and one on the Mini-Map. I also created a clickable sign across from the elevator in that area to hold some misc interesting web sites on the topic of maps, mostly in SL. Then I began work on three major topics - the World Map, the Mini-Map and landmarks. I created a sign with a screen shot and notecards to give info about each. Later on, Megan gave all of us a standardized notecard dispenser and I switched my notecards to that type dispenser. I created sound files that are briefer than the notecard information and began placing them on clickable areas of those screen shots. I wanted to get the bulk of this done so next week I can concentrate on a scavenger hunt type activity. I found a few map jokes and I hope to have people get the answer to a joke by completing the scavenger hunt, pretty much teleporting using landmarks on a notecard to find the answers. Also, when Trish needs help I'll have more time to do that if I've got the map area pretty much under control. Finally, I sent Megan my favorite SL point of interest site (Sistine Chapel) for use in the area above the maps that will hold our favorite SL placess.
Patrick:
I added a "gender changing room" to the first floor corner and have a script with a notecard and new shape. The notecard explains that the avatar needs a new shape to change genders and there is also a shape that the user receives. To add some more information, we could explain the different features - but that is something that people might prefer to play with.
There is a gesture kiosk - I was thinking that a series of "pamphlets" might be useful - that might need to be moved to a different floor.
There is a bulletin board near the elevators that can be used when we nail down the concept.
Trish:I am going to divide my area into an audio area and a video area. In the video area, I am creating a viewing area where videos can be played. I will be adding notecards with the instructions on how to do this. Should I add these to the notecard kiosk? In the audio area, I am working on streaming a radio station (solo piano--good background music). I have the URL (http://www.live365.com/play/pianoradio/listen.pls), but am still unable to add this to the land??? I don't think I have been made the land owner yet? Anyway, the floating orb is supposed to be a disco ball. I had a script for it to rotate when touched, but it rotated very quickly and in the wrong direction. I uploaded and added a disco ball texture, but it looks more like a rock. Perhaps if I stick with the rock/disco ball, I'll change the radio station to dance music. Along these lines, the floating rectangle is supposed to have a texture that reads, "Let's Dance," but I cannot get this to import. I created the sign in Photoshop, same as my other ones, but no matter what type of file I save as, Metaverse won't accept it. I had been saving as .tga files, which seemed to make MV happy, but not so much now. It has been a frustrating day as I keep getting kicked out as well as the aforementioned issues, but I will persevere. I just can't figure out what's going on with my texture images. Photoshop no longer has targa listed as a file format (which it did as as of yesterday!), but I tried using the .tga extension anyway. MV keeps telling me to try saving as a Targa file. Maybe all will be better tomorrow! I have very little to show for hours of work. My apologies.
I had a thought to put an audio welcome message at our entrance. Touch to hear. We could say something like, "Thank you for visiting the Metaverse Welcome Center. We hope you find the information helpful."
April 27 - May 3
Brian: Wednesday: I changed the texture of the teleport pad that Pam fixed and attached a notecard to it. I created two videos today - one video that demonstrates basic movement walk, run, fly. The second video is a basic view of treading water/swimming. I also added a SL Tip of the Week video on how to turn off the typing hands as well as a billboard related to movement problems. So far I have Jerky Motion/inability to walk and freefalling. I have attached a notecard to each of these items. Saturday: Spent time adding code to Matt's dresser drawers to allow them to pull out and push back in. I was able to figure out how to pull them out when touched, but returned to its starting position based on a timer. Luckily, Megan came by and helped program it so it would both open and close based on an avatar's touch. (Even Better) I added notecards to the three dispensers providing an explanation on how to Take Copy of each of the items of furniture Matt created so the original remains and providing the lsl codes for the internal coding. Sunday: I eliminated the Movement Problems billboard in my area and added them to a notecard for the FAQ dispenser. In the billboards place, I added a new video on basic camera controls. Additionally, I added floating text to the roof area along with the items on the first floor I worked on last evening.
Matthew: This week I worked with Brian to finalize what we wanted to do with the 1st floor. We conversed in Metaverse and via email. I downloaded all of the pictures sent to me and began to organize them to be put into the groups movie. Upon receiving everyones pictures and audio I will be putting together the video. The group agreed this week to have it sent by next Tuesday.
Megan:
Pam:
This week I tweaked a teleport script that takes you to our pool out back and left it for Brian if he'd like to use it. He reports it works great! I also contributed information with references to Megan for use in the "Why? Garden" in front of the Welcome Center. Most of my time, however, was spent with the Landmarks Scavenger Hunt for the Maps area of the Welcome Center. I decided which jokes to use and teleported around looking for good landmark locations to use with the scavenger hunt. I worked out a code idea for joke answers then added the teleport locations with questions into a notecard to give for the activity. Last week I discovered www.wordle.net and used it to create a graphic for the billboard holding the scavenger hunt. I didn't want the joke answer link in the same document as the scavenger hunt information, so as not to tempt anyone to cheat. So, I added a "Credits" notecard next to the scavenger hunt billboard. Finally, I did a complete test of the scavenger hunt. However, if anyone wants to give it a try, please do! Feedback would be great.
Patrick:
This week I am adding signs to the changing rooms that Megan rehabbed, creating short video tutorials and putting screens up in the respective areas, adding some notecard dispensers to give notes and "gifts", putting a boutique on the 2nd floor, and adding some tutorials about creating & changing clothes.
Trish:The waterfall flows (yeah!) and has a water sound effect. There is a notecard in the dispenser to the right of the waterfall with directions on how to add a sound effect to a prim. Piano music is streaming, and I made a video about how to do that which plays when you touch the "Play movie" sign. I added a notecard to the dispenser to the left of the play movie sign with a link to a website for radio stream URLs. Two relaxation benches are now sit-able. The sitting avatars face each other. If you click the sign below relax and enjoy the music sign, you go to a video I made on how to change streaming preferences. On the video end of the hall, I put a notecard dispenser on the column with a notecard on how to link a video. I don't know how to make the floating sign, so I put a prim with a texture. I can change it to transparent to make it look like the others. Tony stopped by last night and said he is pleased with our progress.
May 4-10
Brian: I selected The Theorist Project – Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership @ college of Education and human services as my favorite link and passed it along to Megan. The link was a great psychology site that allows you to even interview a FreudBot. I created my audio recording and emailed it to Matt along with my recently updated pictures. I walked around our building and tested many of the applications including turning my avatar into a male. (About Time) Finally, I passed along the benefits of SL in Social Studies to Pam.
Matthew: This week I worked on the video. I edited my group members videos so taht we fit the youtube time limit. I also created my video using Photostory. I also helped put Brian's section of the video.
