Definition
Academic Computing includes the use of computer technology by academics (including students, teachers and college/university faculty) for conducting scholarly work involving teaching, research, writing, collaboration, dissemnation and publishing (both electronically and via dead trees).
- deals primarily with words, not data analysis (words common to all academic work)
